The Grow With Us planning process was an opportunity for everyone who cares about the future of Lexington County to share their ideas and insight about the future. This planning process laid forth a framework for managing growth for years to come. The opportunity for all citizens to get involved and shape the future of our community is exciting and will ensure that the future growth of our county is guided by the community, not simply happening to the community. The "Grow with Us" website, provides some historical perspective about the process and how we achieved successful adoption.
On Tuesday, June 7th, Lexington County Council voted unanimously to approve the 2022 Comprehensive Plan entitled "Grow with Us: Responsibly Planning Lexington County". The Grow with Us website and the Approved Comprehensive Plan Documents can be accessed by the following links:

Almost everything we do in Lexington County government has location as a common component. GIS is used for economic development projects, competition for transportation funds, emergency services (fire, law enforcement, EMS & Emergency Management), HUD grant requests, zoning, crime analysis, planning, municipal contracts, solid waste franchise contracts and services, identifying the best location for new fire stations, magistrates offices, fuel depot sites, tax mapping, analysis of library services, and much more.
